The Carbocage project in France developed a standardized methodology for measuring and verifying carbon storage in hedgerows. This work was instrumental in creating a carbon accounting framework that allows hedgerow projects to be certified under the French national low-carbon label (Label Bas-Carbone), creating a potential new income stream.
